In 1954, John Buehler, president of the Buehler Corporation – a manufacturer of ultra precision equipment for aerospace –launched Buehler Turbocraft, a brand that initiated a new era of cruising with style. It was the first ever brand to successfully introduce the water jet method of propulsion. Its fuel efficiency is made possible by the semi-planning hull based on the Long Thin Hull concept. It offers the benefit of a smoother ride than any conventional planning hulls and a higher cruising speed than any displacement or semi-displacement boats. With a top speed of about 20 knots, it boasts more than 400 nautical miles of range at a perfect cruising speed of about 12 knots.
